Project Officer Lead - Public Sector

The Project Office Lead is responsible for providing project-related services to support Project Managers, Engagement Managers and PS Practice Partners to focus on completing projects on-time, within budget, and within client expectations for quality and functionality.  The project-related services include supporting data management, coordination of governance and reporting, and administrative activities. The Project Office Lead provides support from the pre-contract phase through to closeout for projects conducted by Teradata Professional Services in ANZ.

 

The Project Office Lead requires good written and spoken English skills; including being able to conduct business communication with Teradata offices outside Australia.

 

The primary focus for this position is support for project-related services delivered to clients within the Public Sector.  The position is located in Canberra

 

The candidate must be an Australian Citizen and hold an Australian Government Security Vetted clearance or be able to obtain clearance. 


Project Oversight:

  • Support Project Managers, Engagement Managers and PS Practice Partners to focus on completing projects on-time, within budget, and within client expectations for quality and functionality
  • Assist Project Managers, Engagement Managers and PS Practice Partners with data management, coordination of governance and reporting, and administrative activities from the pre-contract phase through to closeout
  • Administer and oversee financial standards for projects in Teradata PS systems
  • Ensure project records meet established time, cost, and objectives
  • Ensure monthly billings, and timely collection of revenue
  • Support  Project Managers and Engagement Managers to build a project team

·       Ensure proper set up of the engagement in the time keeping system, ensuring consultants and contractors are always current with their reported time. Produces project financial and status reports from Teradata internal systems.


Knowledge Capture & Reuse

  • Ensure that Teradata internal tools are fully leveraged to effectively perform assigned responsibilities
  • Support process to capture project knowledge items including project plans, schedules, status reports

Process Improvement & Project Governance

·       Provide support for improving and streamlining Project Processes, including deployment of new processes and tools

·       Assist with PMO governance across the project portfolio for the Public sector

Qualifications


·       3 years proven experience as a project administrator or in similar management role

·       Strong proficiency and hands-on experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Project)

·       Proven ability to prepare management reports, summarizing resource utilization as well as how project plans are performing against critical schedules and budgets.

·       Excellent communication skills both oral and written

·       Able to work unsupervised with high degree of analysis and resolve problems

·       Solid organization and time-management skills
